epa02194134 Egyptian Coptic Christians look on as they attend a gathering at the Abbasiya Cathedral in Cairo, Egypt, 09 June 2010. The gathering takes place at the Abbasiya Cathedral every week, the one on 09 June was held just after a protest in support of the pope, against Egypt's High Court ruling on 31 May, which allows divorced Egyptian Copts to remarry. The Coptic Orthodox Church is the main Christian Church in Egypt. Divorceremarriage are only permitted by it for "the innocent party in cases of adultery or conversion". The issue has been a controversial one since 2008 after Egypt's Higher Civil Court ruled that Copts who had filed for a civil divorce had the legal right to remarry. EPA/AMEL PAIN
