Turkey Aprıl Industrıal Productıon Up 17.0% On Year
Turkish industrial production grew less than expected in April, rising 17.0% in annual terms, data from the national statistics institute TUIK showed Tuesday.
Economists had expected industrial production to increase 18 . 2% in April .
In monthly terms , industrial production fell 2 . 3% in April .
Manufacturing output increased an annual 18 . 6% , electricity , gaswater output rose 9 . 7% , while mining industry production surged 5 . 2% .
In 2009 as a whole , Turkish industrial production fell 9 . 6% on the year .
TUIK revised its March industrial production figure to a rise of 21 . 2% in annual terms , from a rise of 21 . 1% previously .
It also revised its March industrial production figure to a rise of 16 . 4% in monthly terms , from a rise of 16 . 3%
