Turkey 2009 Graın Productıon Up 14.6% On Year At 33.6m Tons
Turkey's grain crop production rose 14.6% to 33.6 million metric tons in 2009 compared with 2008, the Turkish Statistics Institute, or TUIK said Tuesday.
TUIK didn ' t give any reason for the production increase .
According to a statement posted on TUIK ' s Web site , wheat production rose 15 . 8% to 20 . 6 million tons , while barley output increased 23 . 2% to 7 . 3 million tons .
Fruit production rose 6% to 16 . 6 million while vegetable production decreased 1 . 6% to 26 . 8 million tons last year , TUIK also showed .
