Garantı Bank: Ge Stıll Evaluatıng Optıons On Stake Sale
Turkish private lender Garanti Bank AS (GARAN.IS) said Monday that General Electric Co. (GE) continues to evaluate its strategic options on the sale of its 20.85% stake in Garanti.
In a statement to the Istanbul Stock Exchange , Garanti said no information that needs to be declared to the public has reached the bank .
In April , Turkish daily Sabah reported without citing sources that four potential buyers are interested in General Electric ' s stake in Garanti , including Qatar Investment Authority , National Bank of Kuwait , Volkswagen Financial Services--affiliated with Volkswagen Dogus Finans ( DOAS . IS ) --and Spanish Banco De Sabadell SA ( SAB . MC ) .
At 0700 GMT , Garanti shares were trading 1 . 54% lower at TRY6 . 40 , amid a 1 . 44% lower overall Istanbul market .
