epa02123770 European Commissioner for Transport , Estonian  Sim Kallas gives a news conference on the shutdown of Europe's airspace due to Volcanic ashes from an eruption on Iceland, at the European Commission headquarters,  in Brussels , Belgium 19 April 2010. Kallas said, over the last two days, the European Commission, with the assistance of Eurocontrol, has been co-ordinating a series of intensive meetings with national aviation authorities, air traffic control services, the airlines, airportsscientists.
