Brewersoft drink manufacturer Anadolu Efes Biracilik Ve Malt Sanayi AS (AEFES.IS) posted a consolidated net profit of 422.6 million Turkish lira ($276.5 million) in 2009, the official Web site of the Istanbul Stock Exchange showed late Tuesday.
The company's net profit was TRY309.7 million in 2008.
Anadolu Efes didn't give a reason for the rise in net profit, but according to the Istanbul Stock Exchange Web site, it was mainly due to increasing salesfinancial revenue.
Income from sales rose to TRY3.811 billion last year from TRY3.669 billion a year earlierfinancial revenue rose to TRY375 million from TRY187.4 million.
Its operating profit also increased to TRY647.9 million in 2009 from TRY627.5 million a year earlier.
Anadolu Efes has brewing operations in Russia, Kazahkstan, Georgia, MoldovaSerbia. The company also owns a 50.3% stake in Coca Cola Icecek, which bottles Coca-Cola Co. (KO) soft drinks in Turkey.
Anadolu Efes has a portfolio of 67 domesticinternational brands, including Efes products in TurkeySokolStary Melnik in Russia.
