Turkey's Fınansbank 2009 Net Profıt Up 79% At Try650.1m

Turkish lender Finansbank A.S. (FINBN.IS), said late Friday its full-year 2009 net profit rose 79% to 650.1 million Turkish lira (425.5 million) from TRY362.6 million a year earlier.

The bank didn't give a reason for the rise in net profit, but according to the Istanbul Stock Exchange's Web site it was mainly due to an increase in net interest income.

The bank's net interest income rose to TRY2.2 billion in 2009 from TRY1.7 billion a year earlier, while its deposits also increased to TRY20.2 billion from TRY15.9 billion.

National Bank of Greece S.A. (NBG, ETE.AT) owns 77.2% of Finansbank.
