General Mobile says its GM 5 Plus phone provides consumers with combination of 'excellent hardware and latest software to ensure best user experience'.
Turkey's General Mobile has introduced its latest smartphone “GM 5 Plus” at the Mobile World Congress in the Spanish city of Barcelona on Tuesday, the company said in a statement.
The new smartphone provides consumers a combination of excellent hardware and latest software to ensure the best user experience, the statement said.
According to the company, GM 5 Plus users can take selfies with its 13 megapixels front camera, which is equipped with flash. Also, one can use “superfast Internet with CAT-7” to reach and share whatever one wants quickly.
“Google is pleased to collaborate once again with General Mobile on Android One, a program that aims to bring high-quality smartphones with a pure Google experience, the latest features of Android, and regular software updates to a broad audience,' said Anne Laurenson, director of Android partnerships for southern Europe, Russia, Turkey, Ukraine and Middle East at Google.
General Mobile Chairman Sebahattin Yaman said the GM 5 Plus is the second product resulting out of cooperation with Google through the Android One program.
“Being the first product of our collaboration within the scope of the Android One program, General Mobile 4G has achieved phenomenal success as well as ranking among the most preferred smartphones in 15 countries in 2015. The second smartphone of Android One program, General Mobile ‘GM 5 Plus’, [aims to reach] beyond the 15 countries this year; we aim to achieve success worldwide,' Yaman said.
'The speed, performance and quality of ‘GM 5 Plus’ has also been approved by Google engineers,' Muzaffer Golcu, general manager of General Mobile, said.
“We have developed a smartphone that gives a sense of quality to the user thanks to its elegant and slim design equipped with a metal frame. Since the concept of photography has become synonymous with selfie, we have provided ‘GM 5 Plus’ with the same front and rear 13 MP [megapixels] camera with flash,' Golcu added.

The company has introduced “GM 5 Plus” to the market with four different color options: space grey, silver, gold and rose, as well as single and dual SIM card options.
The new phone's 3100mAh battery can be charged up to 60 percent in only 30 minutes with the Quick Charge 3.0 support developed by Qualcomm. The device also has powerful hardware thanks to its 3 gigabytes RAM as well as 32 gigabytes internal memory and support up to 128 gigabytes micro SD slot.
