epa02128564 Australian Martin Stephens member of the so-called ' Bali Nine ' , nine Australian nationals convicted as part of a drug-smuggling network , is seen inside the Kerobokan prison in Bali , Indonesia on 23 April 2010 . Martin Stephens has lodged a final appeal against his life sentence with the help of an Australian Federal Police letter that describes him as a minor player in the heroin smuggling plot . Stephens was arrested at Bali airport in April 2005 with almost 3 kilograms of heroin strapped to his legsstomach . He was sentenced to life in prison in 2006 .  EPA/MADE NAGI
