A flotilla of several ships heading to Gaza were boarded by Israeli comandos earlier with considerable loss of life. A long-anticipated Israeli takeover of six ships carrying humanitarian aid for the Gaza Strip turned bloodyviolent early 31 May, with at least 10 foreign activists confirmed killeddozens injured. Seven Israeli soldiers were also injured, one seriouslyone critically. Other unconfirmed reports said as many as 16 activists were killed. Some 50 people are reported injured. While the activists are detained the seized aid materials on the boats will be brought to Gaza through Kerem Shalom but the process will take 'days if not weeks', according to an IDF spokesperson.  EPA/OLIVER WEIKEN
