According to media reports 01 June 2010, Del Toro has quit as director of 'The Hobbit' after working on the project for 2 years.  He cited endless production delaysrights issues as the reason for his departure from the film.  Peter Jackson who produceddirected the Lord of The Rings trilogy is now looking for a new director to spearhead his two-part prequel 'The Hobbit'.  EPA/DANIEL DEME
