In the meantime, Gaza is facing a humanitarian disaster, the spokesman for UN ReliefWorks Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) Adnan Abu Hasna told, as a fleet of boats carrying 10,000 tons of aid for the Strip prepared to set sail from Cyprus. The spokesman said that 80 percent of the 1.5 million people in the Gaza Strip depended on international humanitarian aid organizations, mainly UNRWA. UNRWA gives aid to 850,000 people, while 106,000 families receive financial help from the organisation, which employs 15,000 workers in special temporary employment programs, he said.  EPA/ABED AL HASHLAMOUN
