epa02176215 Richard Clifton (R)Terri Clifton (L) visit the grave of their son US Marine Lance Corporal Richard Chad Clifton, of Milford, Delaware, that died 03 February 2005 as a result of hostile action in Iraq, during the 'Flags In' ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia, USA, 27 May 2010. The ceremony known as 'Flags In' is performed to commemoratehonor US military personnel ahead of the upcoming 31 May 2010 Memorial Dayhas been conducted annually since 1948. Soldiers of 3rd US Infantry Regiment (The Old Guard) are joined by service members from the US Marine Corps CeremonialGuard Company, US Navy Ceremonial Guard , US Air Force Honor Guardthe US Coast Guard Ceremonial Honor Guard in placing more than 250,000 grave decorating flags in the cemetery.  EPA/MICHAEL REYNOLDS
