Srı Lanka Buddha Statue Workshop

epa02174057 A Sri Lankan sculptor gives the final touches to a Buddha statue at a workshop in Kelaniya, 20 km from Colombo, Sri Lanka, 26 May 2010. In the predominantly Buddhist island nation the Buddha icon takes pride of place in any home or place of work. The standing, seated or the lying pose is depicted in most with the seated position being sought after. The temple, the bo tree, the dagoba (pagoda)the Buddha statue are integral components in Buddhism. Floralother tributes are offered at the feet of these as obeisance during religious rites.
