A massive clean-up was under way in the central Ratchaprasong area , Bangkok ' s ritziest shoppinghotel district , thousands of anti-government protestors had camped April 3 to May 19along the streets of the financial district of Silom , other affected areas , battles between protesterssoldierspolice had taken place .
