epa02165827 A Syrian specialist gauges a Damascene rose at Al-Marah village, some 65 km from the capital of Damascus, Syria, 20 May 2010. The non-governmental Syrian Fund of Rural Development 'Fardos' gave journalists on 20 May a rare tour to the village to witness the month-long harvesting of the rose that has long been linked to the Syrian heritagewhich is facing the risk of perishing.
