Germany skipper Michael Ballack will miss the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa because of injury, the German Football Association (DFB) confirmed 17 May 2010. A scan at the clinic of DFB doctor Mueller-Wohlfahrt revealed that the 33-year-old has torn ligaments in his right anklewill not return to training for at least eight weeks.
