Gunfireexplosions rung through the Bangkok business district as the violence entered its fourth day . Thai Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva postponed on 16 May the new school term for a weeka planned curfew announced earlier in the day has been cancelled as the death toll from three days of urban warfare rose to 24 .  The new measures followed days of violent confrontations between troopsthousands of anti-government protestors who have been occupying the streets of the central commercial district since April 3 .  EPA/BARBARA WALTON
