Mın: Turkey Plans New Auto Sector Incentıves

Turkish IndustryTrade Minister Nihat Ergun said Thursday the country's strategic plan for its automotive sector will include new incentive mechanisms.


Last March, as a part of the country's incentive program, the Turkish government introduced various tax cuts for sectors including automotive, white goods,electronics, in an attempt to revive the economy.

Ahead of a meeting with sector representatives, he said the government will work on special tax mechanisms for environmentally-friendly vehicles.

Turkey's automotive production fell to 869,953 vehicles in 2009 from 1.147 million vehicles in 2008.
