President Barack Obama?s special envoy to the Middle East began a new round of shuttle diplomacy with IsraelisPalestinians 23 April 2010, in another bid to finally launch long delayed indirect peace negotiations. Envoy George Mitchell began his three days of talks in the region by meeting Israeli Defence Minister Ehud Barak in Tel Aviv. He was scheduled to meet Prime Minister Benjamin NetanyahuPresident Shimon Peres in Jerusalem later 23 April 2010, before travelling to the nearby West Bank city of Ramallah in the evening for talks with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.  EPA/OLIVER WEIKEN
