epa02127997 Israeli border policemen carry away foreign activists protesting together with Palestinians against the extension of Israel's controversial separation barrier in the Palestinian West Bank village of Beit Jala, south of Jerusalem, on 22 April 2010. Israel says the barrier is necessary to protect its citizens from attacks, while the Palestinians view it as part of a land grab aimed at carving off key swathes of their promised future state. To date, Israel has completed 413 kilometres (256 miles) of the planned 709-kilometre (435-mile) barrier. When completed, 85 percent of it will have been built inside the West Bank, according to UN figures.  EPA/ABED AL HASHLAMOUN
