Tourist arrivals to Thailand dropped dramatically in the face of continuing policial unrest. Three five star hotels in the nearby Rachaprasong area have closed 20 April, announcing plans to stay shut until 25 April 2010, citing safety concerns as thousands of protesters continur to occupy the areablock it forcing hundreds of shops in the high end dristrict to also stay closed.
