Sudan held is first open elections in 24 yearscounting of the ballots continues with the vote count expected to be completed 20 April. Early results confirm that incumbent President Omar el Bashir has won most of the votes already counted by the National Elections Commission with a few districts in Sudanabroad showing him with between 88 per cent94 per cent of votes counted.
