epa02119527 National Election Commission officials open a ballot box to start the counting procedures after five days of voting from Sudan ' s first general election in 24 years in Khartoum , Sudan 16 April 2010 .   The election in which Sudanese President Omar el Bashir is expected to handily win the presidential race  were required as part of the Comprehensive Peace Agreement signed between northsouth ending 30 years of civil warwhich will lead to a referendum vote in January 2011 on whether the south will succeedform its own country .  South Sudan President Salva Kiir from the SPLM who is running for that office is  expected to win as well .  EPA/PHILLIP DHIL
